The Philadelphia Eagles continue to add depth to their Offensive Line, bringing in Clemson product Marcus Tate during OTA’s.

Eagles sign Clemson’s Marcus Tate as UDFA

Marcus Tate participated in the Eagles’ rookie camp, which was an indication that he could be signed as the Birds continue to trust their coaching to develop players and build a strong offensive line room without using high-value draft capital in recent years.

The 6’5, 321-pound, has shown nimble feet in pass-pro and above average knee bend to take on would-be pass rushers. Marcus has adequate speed to get to the next level in the run game, shows spatial awareness, and is strong driving DTs back off the line of scrimmage.

Marcus mainly played left guard for the Tigers, but he offers versatility along the line and has a strong track record on film, having played over 2500 snaps during 37 starts in 42 games at Clemson.

Tate was a 2nd Team All-ACC selection last season and is a leader on and off the field. He also fits the culture that Philadelphia continues to build with its personnel. Though Marcus has battled injuries, he has a lot of traits that will help him win a roster spot on the practice squad, or more.
